Job Summary
:Under the direction of the Radiologist, Diagnostic Imaging administration and/or Lead - the Ultrasonographer performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative in the application of non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to patients for diagnosis of disease.
Ultrasonographer Job Responsibilities:
- Move transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observe sound wave display on screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced.
- Perform abdominal, OB-GYN, vascular, and small parts sonography.
- Assist radiologists with ultrasound guided procedures.
- Discuss test findings with the radiologist.
- Explain procedure to the patient. Instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for exam
